Ashampoo PDF Free is intended for viewing and creating PDF documents. In addition to the standard viewer/editor, it also comes with a virtual printer allowing to create PDFs directly from any application that supports printing.
The program’s interface has the common layout that characterizes this type of tool. Most of the window’s space is devoted to displaying the contents of the file. It is even possible to hide toolbars to make extra room for the document. Moreover, if you want to work on various simultaneous documents simultaneously, you can open them on different windows.
In viewing mode, Ashampoo PDF Free lets you not only read the opened documents but also fill out anyinteractive or static form they may contain. Fortunately, the tool comes with several editing features. One of them is the possibility of working with document pages. In this regard, you can delete and rearrange pages as well as merging parts of different files. Additionally, it is possible to find a specific string within the document and replace it with another.
Regrettably, the tool is not a full-fledged PDF editor as it does not allow editing text or images directly from its window. Instead, you can use a third-party tool and pick the Ashampoo virtual printer from its Print dialog. Other limitations have to do with the impossibility of creating interactive forms, editing images from within the application, inserting Bates numbers and splitting a file into smaller documents with a given number of pages. more
